A solid, successful business and a love of the land are the foundation of Stone Creek Resorts Club.

Stone Creek is a privately held company founded in 1993 by Hal Walker, Bud McCaig, Gordon Stollery and Guy Turcotte to develop the Silvertip Resort in Canmore, Alberta. Inspired by a dry stone creek bed on the lands, the company became known as Stone Creek Properties Inc. More than 350 homes have been developed at Silvertip over the past 15 years with real estate values in excess of $600 million.

Guy Turcotte, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stone Creek Properties has been a successful oil and gas executive since the 1980s. Guy is a native Albertan who grew up on a small farm in East Central Alberta with eight siblings. He has a Chemical Engineering degree from The University of Tulsa and an MBA from The University of Alberta.

In 1981, he started Chauvco Resources with $2 million of public capital which was sold in 1997 to Pioneer Natural Resources of Dallas for $1.3 billion. In 1998, Guy was Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the public entity called Fort Chicago Energy Partners L.P., a 50 percent owner of the $5 billion Alliance pipeline built in 1998 to 2000 from Fort St. John, British Columbia to Chicago, Illinois to transport Canadian natural gas to the U.S. markets.

In 1999, Western Oil Sands Inc. was formed by a group of partners with Guy as Chief Executive Officer to take a 20 percent position in the $5.7 billion 155,000 barrels per day oil sands project with Shell Canada and Chevron Canada. About $400 million of equity was raised in 1999 and 2000. The company was sold in October, 2007 for $6.3 billion to Marathon Oil Corporation of Houston. With two spectacular resorts on both sides of the world famous Canadian Rockies, and a strong financial foundation, the company is pleased to announce the formation of The Stone Creek Resorts Club.
